On the morning of November 14th, members of the Warrant Apprehension Task Force arrested two suspects in connection with the murder of ex- City Councilman, Kenneth Harris, Sr.  Harris was fatally shot early in the morning on September 20th in the 1500 block of Havenwood Road, just outside the “Haven” Lounge.

After a long and grueling investigation, homicide detectives were able to charge Charles Mcganey (19) of the 1300 block of Gorsuch Avenue and Gary Collins (20) of the 2600 block of Ivy Place.  Both were charged with 1st and 2nd degree murder, armed robbery, and various handgun violations.  One suspect still remains at large.

Police Commissioner Frederick Bealefeld says “these two arrests are just another fine example of how the many units of the police department work together for one cause.  Homicide, crime lab, district detective units, and patrol pulled every necessary resource, and the results are evident.”
