On February 1st, 2011, the Baltimore Humane Society honored the Baltimore Police Marine Unit for their heroic actions is saving "Penny," a dog that had fallen into the frigid waters of the Inner Harbor on December 29th, 2010.

Penny had left her home in Federal Hill, crossed over Key Highway, and jumped in to the water just before 6:30 pm, when the first 911 call was received. Officer Rambeau entered the water and retrieved Penny, aided by Sgt. Kain and others from the elite unit. Job well done guys!
