On September 29, 2026, at approximately 9:34 a.m., officers responded to the 1700 block of Fleet Street regarding an unarmed robbery. 

Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victims, a 60-year-old male and a 76-year-old female. The victims reported they were assaulted and robbed by an unidentified male suspect. The suspect assaulted both victims, knocking them to the ground, and stole a wallet from one of the victims before fleeing toward South Regester Street. Both victims were transported to an area hospital for medical treatment.

On October 1, 2026, Warrant Apprehension detectives arrested Montray McCray while in the unit block of South Carrollton Avenue. McCray was transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he was charged with assault, robbery and reckless endangerment

Additionally, on October 1, 2026, the 76-year-old female succumbed to her injurie and was pronounced decased.
