Eastern District Attempted Murder Arrest

In reference to the shooting that occurred on November 29, 2024, in the Eastern District, detectives have arrested 58-year-old Raynard Venable of Baltimore.

Investigators learned that Venable shot the 57-year-old victim during a dispute while in the 2500 block of East Oliver Street. The victim then fled the location to the 2700 block of East Federal Street where police and medics were notified.

On February 2, 2025, Warrant Apprehension detectives arrested Raynard Venable in the 800 block of East 22nd. Street. Venable was transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility where he was charged with attempted first-degree murder.

Eastern District Shooting Investigation

On November 29, 2024, at approximately 12:54 a.m., Eastern District patrol officers responded to the 2700 block of East Federal Street, for a report of a shooting.

Once there, officers located a 57-year-old male suffering from an apparent non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
