Northeast District Shooting Investigation

On March 8, 2023, at approximately 3:48 p.m., officers were dispatched to an area hospital to investigate a walk-in shooting victim seeking treatment.

Responding officers arrived at the hospital and observed a 36-year-old male being treated by medical personnel and suffering from numerous gunshot wounds to his body.

Upon further investigation, detectives located a crime scene in the 3900 block of Erdman Avenue.

Northeast District shooting detectives responded and assumed control over the investigation.

Southeast District Shooting Homicide

 On March 22, 2008, at approximately 05:44 a.m., Southeast District patrol officers responded to the 500 block of North Decker Avenue to Investigate a reported shooting.

When officers arrived at the location, officers located a 21-year-old victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the body. The victim was transported to an area hospital in critical but stable condition.

The preliminary investigation found that the victim was walking in the 500  block of North Decker Avenue when he was approached by multiple unidentified suspects wearing dark clothing who robbed and shot the victim. The suspects then fled in an unknown direction.

On March 8, 2023, Homicide detectives were notified that the victim died in Texas, and an autopsy was conducted. Texas medical examiners ruled the death a homicide due to complications from the shooting. Detectives are still awaiting the formal documents and reports from the Texas Medical Examiner's office to confirm the victim's death date.

Northwest District Homicide Investigation

On March 7, 2023, at approximately 5:37 p.m., Northwest District patrol officers were dispatched to the 3900 block of Liberty Heights Avenue to investigate a call for police assistance.

When officers arrived at the location, Officers were advised that there was a black container containing possible human remains in the curtilage of the 3400 block of Garrison Boulevard. The remains were then transported to the Medic Examiner's Office for an autopsy. And homicide was notified.

On March 8, 2023, the Medical Examiners' Office ruled the remains to be human and the cause of death a homicide.
