Southwest District Shooting Investigation
On May 18, 2025, at approximately 6:45 a.m., Southwest District patrol officers responded to an area hospital for a walk-in shooting victim seeking treatment.
Upon arrival at the hospital, officers spoke with the 43-year-old male victim who was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the inner thigh. The victim is listed in stable condition.
Preliminary investigation revealed the victim stated he was walking in the 1800 block of Lauretta Avenue when he heard a pop sound and realized he was shot.

Southwest District Homicide Investigation
On May 18, 2025, at approximately 2:37 a.m., officers responded to the 3400 block of Wilkens Avenue to investigate discharging a firearm.
Upon arrival at the location, officers located an unidentified male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the neck. Medics responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.
