Southwest District Shooting Investigation
On June 18, 2024, at approximately 6:12 p.m., Southwest District officers responded to the 4500 block of Edmondson Avenue to investigate a reported shooting.
Upon arrival, officers located a 23-year-old female victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the leg. The victim was transported to an area hospital, listed in stable condition.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was participating in a firearm training course at the location, at which time the instructor was demonstrating how to render a firearm safely, when the firearm went off striking the victim accidentally. The instructor was taken into custody.

Southwest District Shooting Investigation
On June 19, 2025, at approximately 8:56 p.m., Officers responded to the 200 block of Stonecroft Road in reference to a shooting.
Officers arrived on scene and observed evidence of discharging. A short time later, officers received a call for a shooting victim seeking treatment at an area hospital.
Once at the hospital, officers observed a 19-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound being treated by medical personnel. The victim’s injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.
