Northwest District Attempted Murder Arrest

In reference to the shooting that occurred in the Northwest District on April 23, 2024, investigators have arrested 24-year-old Joseph Edwards of Baltimore.

Investigators learned that Edwards was responsible for shooting a 25-year-old male while in the 3100 block of West North Avenue, leaving the victim critically injured.

On February 4, 2025, Warrant Apprehension Detectives arrested Joseph Edwards in a Baltimore County Hotel. Edwards was transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he was charged with Attempted First-Degree Murder and Drug & Firearm Traffic Crimes.

Northwest District Shooting Investigation


On April 23, 2024, at approximately 11:23 p.m., Northwest District patrol officers responded to the 3100 block of West North Avenue, for a report of a shooting.

Once there, officers located a 25-year-old male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Due to the victim's condition, Homicide detectives have been notified.
