Northwest District Fatal Crash

On September 30, 2026, at approximately 1:40 p.m., Northwest District officers responded to the 1800 block of N. Dukeland Street for a reported crash.

Upon arrival, officers located a crash involving a vehicle and a motorcycle. The motorcyclist, a 69-year-old male, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. Despite medical efforts, the 69-year-old motorcyclist was pronounced deceased by medical professionals.

Preliminary investigation revelated that a stolen sedan and the motorcyclist collided near the intersection of N. Dukeland Street and W. North Avenue. The stolen vehicle became disabled and two individuals, a male and a female, exited the vehicle and fled on foot. 

The Traffic Investigation Unit (TIU) responded and assumed control of the investigation.
