Southeast District Attempted Murder Arrest

In reference to the shooting that occurred on October 5, 2025, in the Southeast District, investigators have arrested a 16-year-old male suspect.

The 16-year-old suspect was arrested in connection with the shooting of a 24-year-old male that occurred in the 400 block of North Ellwood Avenue.

On December 9, 2025, Warrant Apprehension detectives arrested the 16-year-old without incident while in the 100 block of Kane Street. The suspect was transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he was charged as an adult with Attempted First Degree Murder.

Southeast District Shooting Investigation

On October 5, 2025, at approximately 10:49 p.m., patrol officers responded to an area hospital for a report of a walk-in shooting victim.

Once there, officers learned the 24-year-old male victim was shot while in the 400 block of North Ellwood Avenue.

The victim's injury is considered to be non-life-threatening.
