On April 29, 2025, at approximately 10:38 a.m., officers were flagged down by a 17-year-old male who stated he had just been assaulted and pointed officers to the suspect.

Officers located the suspect and as they approached, he assumed a fighting stance and stated that he was not going anywhere. When the suspect attempted to flee on foot, officers pursued him. During the chase, the suspect punched an officer. Despite efforts to subdue him using mace and a Taser, the suspect continued to resist and assaulted multiple officers.

Officers were able to tackle the suspect and attempted to get him into handcuffs. The suspect continued to fight until officers were able to get him into shackles. Four officers, the 17-year-old victim and the suspect all sustained non life-threatening injuries and were transported to area hospitals for treatment.

The suspect has been identified as Bryant Maurice Allen, (DOB 7/22/95). He will be arrested and charged upon his discharge from the hospital.

“Our officers put themselves in harm’s way every single day to protect this city and it is just truly unacceptable when they are assaulted while simply doing their jobs," said Police Commissioner Richard Worley. "Allen is a repeat violent offender, who has been arrested more than 20 times by our members. We will not tolerate attacks on law enforcement or anyone in our community, and we will continue to pursue those who pose a threat to public safety. I commend our officers for their bravery and ask that you join me in sending them well wishes for a speedy recovery."

Baltimore Police Department's Special Investigations Response Team (SIRT) is investigating this incident.
