On June 7, 2022, at approximately 6:45 a.m., 32-year-old Donald White was shot in the 1900 block of Ramsey Street. White was pronounced deceased at the scene by medics.

Homicide detectives responded and assumed control of the investigation.

Detectives collected physical evidence, reviewed video footage, interviewed witnesses, and were ultimately able to identify the shooting suspect.

On February 23, 2023, members of the Warrant Task Force arrested Julius Tyrone Johnson (41) in the 300 block of Monroe Street in reference to the murder of Donald White.

Johnson was transported to the homicide section, where detectives interviewed him, and then to Central Booking, where he was officially charged with 1st Degree Murder.

Julius Tyrone Johnson is being held at Central Booking without bail.
