Southwest District Attempted Murder Arrest

In reference to the shooting that occurred on September 9, 2024, in the Southwest District, detectives have arrested a 17-year-old male.

Detectives learned the 17-year-old male suspect was responsible for the shooting of a 20-year-old male victim in the 700 block of North Woodington Road.

On January 14, 2025, Warrant Apprehension detectives arrested the suspect in a home in the 3700 block of Park Heights Avenue without incident, transporting him to the Central Booking Intake Facility where he has been charged as an adult with attempted first-degree murder.

Southwestern District Shooting Investigation

On September 9, 2024, at approximately 2:40 p.m., Southern District patrol officers responded to an area hospital for a report of a walk-in shooting victim.

Upon arrival, officers located a 20-year-old male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the back. 

The victim is listed in stable condition.

Preliminary investigation revealed the victim was shot while in the  700 block of North Woodington Road.
