In reference to a shooting that occurred in the Western District, Detectives have arrested 38-year-old James Barrett of Baltimore.
Barrett was arrested in connection with the shooting of a 26-year-old male that occurred in the 1800 block of Edmondson Avenue on August 8, 2025.
On August 29, 2025, Warrant Apprehension detectives arrested James Barrett, in the 3100 block of Stafford Street. Barrett was transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility where he was charged with attempted first-degree murder.

Western District Shooting Investigation
On August 8, 2025, at approximately 10:12 p.m., Western District Officers responded to an area hospital in reference to a shooting victim seeking medical treatment.
Officers arrived at the hospital and observed a 26-year-old male suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
Preliminary information revealed that the victim was shot while in the 1800 block of Edmondson Avenue.
Western District Shooting Detectives are investigating this incident and are asking anyone with information to contact them at 410-396-2477.
