Impartial Policing/LGBTQ+

Baltimore Police Department is committed to policing in a fair and impartial manner without bias to any member of the community. BPD recognizes that fair and impartial policing promotes community trust and yields partnerships between community members and law enforcement that are an invaluable element of effective policing. Through newly revised policies and upcoming training curriculum updates, BPD continues to demonstrate its commitment to ensuring all individuals are provided with equal protection under the law.

Additionally, BPD has instituted several programs/advisory groups that strengthen its relationship with marginalized communities in Baltimore City to include the Safe Places Initiative, LGBTQ+ Advisory Council, African American Advisory Council, and Language Access Program. As a department, we continue to strive for ways to connect with all communities.
