Northern District Homicide Arrest

In reference to the homicide that occurred in the Northern District on April 21, 2024, investigators have arrested 59-year-old Patrick Cromwell of Baltimore.

Investigators learned that Cromwell fatally stabbed and killed 77-year-old Joseph Barranco while in the 900 block of West University Parkway.

Cromwell was arrested at the scene and was transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility where he was charged with murder in the first degree.

Western District Handgun Arrest

On April 22, 2024, at around 7:08 p.m., officers were conducting a vehicle stop on an unidentified male driver in the 500 block of North Pulaski Highway.

During the vehicle stop, officers discovered that the driver, a 34-year-old male, had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Upon arresting the suspect, officers recovered a TP9Sfx, 9 mm handgun.

The suspect was transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility and charged accordingly.

Northern District Carjacking Arrest

On April 18, 2024, at around 10:00 a.m., detectives from our regional Auto Theft Task Force located an armed carjacking vehicle in the 500 block of McCabe Avenue. The vehicle had been reported stolen in the Southern District. The detectives stopped the vehicle and arrested two 15-year-old males. Both individuals were taken to Juvenile Bookings for further proceedings.

Southeast District Commercial Robbery Arrest

On April 18, 2024, at around 5:45 a.m., officers responded to a business in the 6400 block of Eastern Avenue to investigate a call for a commercial robbery in progress.

Upon arrival, officers were advised by a female worker that an unidentified male robbed her as she was opening the business. The victim advised that the unidentified male forced his way into the establishment, forced her to open the safe, and fled with an undisclosed amount of money on foot from the establishment. Officers immediately began to canvass the area and located the suspect. A foot pursuit ensued, and the suspect was apprehended.

The 30-year-old male suspect was arrested and transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he was charged accordingly.
