Eastern District Attempted Murder Arrest

On March 21, 2024, the Warrant Apprehension Task Force members arrested 28-year-old Wayne Coleman.

Detectives believe that Coleman was involved in the shooting of a 36-year-old male and a 24-year-old male in the 2300 block of East Hoffman Street on March 19, 2024.

Detectives transported Coleman to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he was charged with attempted 1st-degree murder.

Eastern District Shooting Investigation

On March 19, 2024, at approximately 3:19 p.m., officers responded to the 2300 block of East Hoffman Street to investigate a call for a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located a 36-year-old male and a 24-year-old male, both suffering from gunshot wounds. Medics transported both victims to an area hospital to receive treatment for their injuries. Due to the critical condition of one victim, Homicide detectives were notified.

Eastern District Shooting detectives responded and assumed control over this investigation.
