Southern District Shooting Investigation

On April 11, 2023, at approximately 8:23 p.m., officers responded to the 2200 block of W. Patapsco Avenue for discharging.

Upon arrival, officers located evidence of a shooting, but found no victim(s).

A short time later, officers were called to an area hospital where a shooting victim walked in seeking treatment.  

Upon arrival to the hospital, officers located a 31-year-old male who was suffering from gunshot wounds to his lower back.  The victim is in serious but stable condition.

Southern District shooting detectives are investigating this incident.

Western District Homicide Investigation

On April 11, 2023, at approximately 3:35 p.m., Western District officers responded to the 1800 block of West Lexington Street for a ShotSpotter alert.

Upon arrival, officers observed a 21-year-old male suffering from gunshot wounds to his chest, legs, and head. The victim was transported by medics to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the incident occurred in the 100 block of North Monroe Street.  

Homicide detectives responded and assumed control of the investigation.

Eastern District Homicide Investigation 

On April 11, 2023, at approximately 1:14 p.m., Eastern District patrol officers responded to the 2700 block of Ashland Avenue to investigate a shot spotter alert.

Once at the location, officers located an unidentified male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the body. The victim was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced deceased by medical personnel.

A short time later, a 52-year-old male victim and a 20-year-old male victim walked into a nearby hospital seeking treatment for a gunshot wound. The injuries sustained by these victims are non-life-threatening.
