Southwest District Homicide Investigation 

On April 19, 2023, at approximately 8:58 p.m., Southwest District officers responded to the 1900 block of Grinnalds Avenue to investigate a reported shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located an unidentified adult male suffering from a gunshot wound to his head. Medics arrived on the scene and attempted life-saving measures to no avail. The victim was pronounced on scene by medics a short time later.

Homicide detectives responded and assumed control over the investigation.

While on scene Homicide detectives were notified of a second victim located at an area hospital.

Upon arrival, officers observed a 42-year-old male suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his lower right back.

Preliminary investigation revealed that this was the second victim involved in this shooting located in the 1900 block of Grinnalds Avenue.

Southern District Shooting Investigation 

On April 19, 2023, at approximately 7:57 p.m., Southern District officers responded to the 2600 block of Carver Road to investigate a reported shooting.

Upon arrival, officers observed a 16-year-old male suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound to his head. The victim was transported by medics to an area hospital in critical condition.

Southern District Shooting detectives responded and assumed control over the investigation.

Due to the severity of the victim’s injuries, Homicide has been notified.
