Southwest District Homicide Investigation

On April 9, 2023, at approximately 11:40 p.m., Southwest District patrol officers responded to the 300 block of South Beechfield Avenue, for a report of a shooting.

Once there, officers located a 40-year-old male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

The victim was transported to an area hospital where he later died.

Northern District Shooting Investigation

On April 9, 2023, at approximately 10:41 p.m., Northern District patrol officers responded to the 600 block of Chestnut Hill Avenue, for a report of discharging.

Once there, officers located a 28-year-old male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Medics responded to the location and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment.

While officers were on the scene of the shooting, a second victim walked into an area hospital seeking treatment.

That victim, a 25-year-old male, suffered non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to the body.

Central District Shooting Investigation

On April 9, 2023, at approximately 9:11 p.m., officers were conducting crowd control in the 400 block of East Pratt Street, when multiple shots were fired by an unidentified suspect, at the location.

Officers immediately canvassed the location and located a 14-year-old male and a 16-year-old male, both suffering from apparent non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Both victims were transported to area hospitals for treatment.

Investigators are currently interviewing a possible suspect who was taken into custody nearby.

Northeast District Homicide Investigation

On April 9, 2023, at approximately 2:31 p.m., Northeast District patrol officers responded to the 1600 block of Chilton Street, for a report of a shooting.

Once there, officers located a 19-year-old male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the body.

Medics transported the victim to an area hospital where he later died.
