Eastern District Shooting Investigation

On August 1, 2023, at approximately 10:15 p.m., Eastern District patrol officers responded to the 300 block of East Federal Street to investigate a ShotSpotter alert.

Once at the location, officers located a male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the leg. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Eastern District Shooting detectives responded to the scene and assumed control of the investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact Eastern District Shooting detectives at 410-396-2433.

Southern District Homicide Investigation

On August 1, 2023, at approximately 4:44 p.m., Southern District patrol officers responded to the 4600 block of Pennington Avenue to investigate the discharging of a firearm.

Once at the location, officers located a 38-year-old male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the upper body. BCFD Medic pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
