Northwestern District Death Investigation (Hospital Walk-In) 

On Dec. 17, 2023, at approximately 7:10 p.m., Northwest District officers responded to an area hospital to investigate a young child who was brought in seeking treatment for a gunshot wound. 

Preliminary information has revealed that an incident occurred inside a residence in the 6100 block of Park Heights Avenue, where a two-year-old female victim suffered a gunshot wound. 

The victim was driven to a local hospital where, despite medical efforts, she was pronounced deceased a short time later.   

Homicide Detectives responded to the scene and have assumed control over the investigation. 

The circumstances that led to the victim’s death due to the gunshot wound are currently under investigation. This remains an open and very active investigation and more details will be made available as they’re confirmed.

Western District Shooting Investigation

On Dec. 17, 2023, at approximately 5:23 p.m., officers responded to calls for a discharging and located a crime scene in the 800 block of N. Warwick Street.

Officers located an adult female victim suffering from apparent non-life-threatening gunshot wounds in the 2400 block of Lanvale Street. The victim was transported by medics to an area hospital for treatment of her injuries. The victim is in stable condition.

Western District Homicide Investigation

On Dec. 17, 2023, at approximately 2:40 a.m., officers responded to the 400 block of Gold Street for multiple Shot Spotter alerts.

An adult female suffering from apparent gunshot wounds was taken by medics to Shock Trauma where she was later pronounced deceased. An adult male with apparent non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to the leg was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Additionally, a 28-year-old male was taken to an area hospital with apparent non-life-threating gunshot wounds to the back.

Central District Shooting Investigation (Hospital Walk-In)

On Dec. 17, 2023, at approximately 2:20 a.m., officers responded to an area hospital for reports of a walk-in gunshot victim.

Once there, officers located a 24-year-old male victim suffering from an apparent non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the shoulder.

No further information is available at this time.
