Southwest District Homicide Update

On Nov. 11, 2021, at approximately 7:52 p.m., Southwest District patrol officers responded to the 1900 block of Braddish Ave. for a report of a shooting.

Once at the location, officers located 29-year-old Byron Hagans suffering a gunshot wound. Medics transported the victim to an area hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.

On Sept. 3, 2023, Hagans was pronounced deceased.

The Medical Examiner’s Office ruled Byron Hagans’ cause of death as a result of complications of a gunshot wound, thus ruling this incident a homicide. 

Homicide Detectives were notified and assumed control over this investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact detectives at 410-396-2100.

Northeast District Shooting Investigation

On Dec. 31, 2023, at approximately 10:50 p.m., district patrol officers responded to area hospitals for reports of walk-in shooting victims.

Once there, officers located a 22-year-old male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. A second victim, a 24-year-old male was located at a different area hospital also suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

Investigators believe that both victims were shot while in the 5300 block of Frankford Avenue, where a crime scene was located.

Southern District Shooting Investigation

On Dec. 31, 2023, at approximately 10:48 p.m., Southern District patrol officers responded to an area hospital for a report of a walk-in shooting victim.

Once there, officers located a 30-year-old male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim's injuries are considered to be non-life-threatening.

At this time the location of the shooting is unknown.

Northeast District Homicide Investigation

On Dec. 31, 2023, at approximately 3:55 p.m., Northeast District patrol officers responded to the 4200 block of Belair Road, for a report of a shooting.

Once there, officers located a 36-year-old male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

Medics transported the victim to an area hospital where he later died.
