Northwest District Shooting Investigation

On Feb. 4, 2024, at approximately 3:34 a.m., officers were patrolling near the area of Park Heights Avenue and West Rogers Avenue when they heard discharging of a firearm.

Officers then received a call for a walk-in shooting victim at an area hospital. Upon arrival, officers observed a 23-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound.

Detectives are attempting to discover if the 23-year-old male is linked to the discharging in the 3300 block of West Rogers Avenue.

Eastern District Shooting Investigation

On Feb. 4, 2024, at approximately 1:50 a.m., officers responded to the 2900 block of Erdman Avenue to investigate a ShotSpotter alert.

Upon arrival, officers observed a 72-year-old male suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. Medics transported the victim to an area hospital where he was being treated for his injuries.

Eastern District Shooting detectives responded and assumed control over this investigation.

Fatal Hit and Run Investigation

On Feb. 4, 2024, at approximately 12:25 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of West Franklin Street and Payson Street to investigate a call for a motor vehicle accident with injuries.

Upon arrival, officers were advised that an unidentified vehicle had struck a 47-year-old male on a bicycle who was crossing at the intersection of West Franklin Street and Payson Street. The striking vehicle had fled the scene, leaving the 47-year-old male suffering from life-threatening injuries. Medics arrived on the scene and attempted life-saving measures. However, he was pronounced deceased on the scene.

CRASH team investigators responded and assumed control over this investigation.
