Southwest District Shooting Investigation

On February 21, 2023, at approximately 6:11 p.m., Southwest District officers responded to the 400 block of S. Pulaski Street to investigate a reported shooting.

When officers arrived at the location, they observed an unidentified male suffering from a gunshot wound to his head. The male was transported by ambulance to an area hospital and is in critical condition.

Due to the severity of the victim's injury, Homicide detectives have been notified.

Southern District Shooting Investigation

On February 21, 2023, at approximately 2:53 p.m., Southern District officers were dispatched to a nearby hospital for a shooting victim who walked in seeking treatment.

When officers arrived at the location, they observed a 32-year-old female suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to her right arm.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the female victim was shot in the 1000 block of Herndon Court inside a residence. This incident is domestic-related, and detectives have a suspect in custody. Charges are forthcoming.

This investigation is currently open and ongoing.

Northeast District Shooting Investigation

On February 21, 2023, at approximately 3:17 a.m., patrol officers responded to an area hospital for a report of a walk-in shooting victim.

Once there, officers located a 25-year-old male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the leg.

The victim’s injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was shot while in the area of Kentucky at Findlay Avenue, when he was shot during an attempted robbery.
