Southern District Homicide Investigation

On Jan . 12, 2024,  at approximately 4:13 p.m., Southern District officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Washington Boulevard to investigate a reported shooting, following a shot-spotter alert.

Officers responded to the location and observed an unidentified adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center and pronounced deceased by medical personnel.

Homicide detectives responded and assumed control over the investigation.

Following the shooting incident, officers and foxtrot pursued a vehicle fleeing from the scene. As a result of the pursuit, the vehicle struck a police vehicle and hit a guardrail. At this time, officers are interviewing the occupants of the vehicle.

Southwest District Shooting Investigation

On Jan. 12, 2024, at approximately 4:00 p.m., Officers were dispatched to investigate a reported call for a shooting in the 100 block of North Poppleton Street.

Officers responded to the location and observed a 18-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Southwest District Shooting detectives responded and assumed control over the investigation.
