Western District Shooting Investigation

On June 7, 2023, at approximately 4:59 p.m., Western District officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of W. Lafayette to investigate a call for a reported shooting.

Officers responded to the location and observed a 55-year-old male suffering from gunshot wounds to his leg. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Western District Shooting detectives responded and assumed control over the investigation.

Preliminary information revealed that the victim and an unidentified suspect were in a verbal dispute, prior to the shooting.

Southwest District Shooting Investigation 

On June 7, 2023, at approximately 3:43 p.m., Southwest District patrol officers responded to an area Hospital for a reported walk-in shooting victim seeking treatment.

Once at the hospital, officers observed a 62-year-old male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the left foot. The victim is listed in stable condition.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim stated he was in the Unit block of South Caton Avenue when he realized he was shot.
