Northwest District Homicide Investigation

On May 21, 2023, at approximately 2:19 p.m., officers responded to the 2700 block of North Longwood Street to investigate a report of a body found.

Upon arrival, officers observed an unidentified male body with signs of trauma to the body. Medics responded and pronounced the male deceased.

Homicide detectives responded and assumed control over this investigation.

Medical Examiner’s Office was notified and has possession of the unidentified male’s body to determine the cause of death.

Southeast District Shooting Investigation

On May 21, 2023, at approximately 1:45 a.m., Southeast District officers responded to the 1300 block of Ponca Street to investigate a report of a discharging.

Officers were then notified of a walk-in shooting victim at an area hospital.

Upon arrival, officers observed a 15-year-old male suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his left arm.

Further investigation revealed that this incident had occurred in the 1100 block of Ponca Street.

Southeast District Shooting detectives responded and assumed control over this investigation.
