Southeast District Cutting - Homicide Update

On Saturday, September 10, 2016, at 5:29 p.m., officers responded to the 600 block of North Highland Avenue for a report of a cutting. Upon arrival, officers observed a male victim who was suffering from a stab wound to his chest. Medics responded and transported the victim to an area hospital, where the victim was listed in critical condition.

During the course of the investigation, detectives arrested two male suspects in connection to the stabbing in 2016.

In 2022, the victim, identified as Deontaye Anderson (DOB 7/15/05), succumbed to his injuries related to the 2016 stabbing incident. On November 15, 2023, homicide detectives were notified by the OCME that Anderson’s death has been ruled a homicide. Homicide detectives are working alongside the State's Attorney's Office to determine additional charges for the two suspects arrested in 2016.

 

Southwest District Shooting Investigation

On Nov. 15, 2023, at approximately 9:39 p.m., officers were patrolling the 2000 block of West Pratt Street when they heard discharging in the immediate area.

Upon canvassing the immediate area, officers observed three males, ages 20, 26, and 27, suffering from gunshot wounds in the 2000 block of West Pratt Street. Officers on the scene administered life-saving measures to the victims on the scene by applying tourniquets to all three victims. Medics arrived and transported the victims to an area hospital where they would receive treatment for their injuries. The 20-year-old male has been listed in critical condition, and the 26-year-old male and 27-year-old male were listed in stable condition.

Once arriving at the area hospital, officers were advised that a fourth victim had walked in who was suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Southwest District Shooting detectives responded and assumed control over this investigation.

Southeast District Homicide Investigation

On Nov. 15, 2023, at approximately 4 p.m., officers responded to the 500 block of North Curley Street to investigate a ShotSpotter alert. 

Upon arrival, officers observed an unidentified male suffering from numerous life-threatening gunshot wounds. Medics responded and transported the victim to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where, despite life-saving measures, he was pronounced deceased.

Homicide detectives responded and assumed control over this investigation.
