Eastern District Shooting Investigation 

On August 4, 2023, at approximately 11:42 p.m., Eastern District officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Montford Avenue to investigate a shotspotter alert.

Officers responded to the location and observed a 19-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to his head, a 25-year-old female suffering from a gunshot wound to her foot, and a 7-year-old male child who sustained a graze wound to his leg. All victims were transported to area hospitals to be treated for their injuries.

Due to the severity of the 19-year-old victim’s injuries, Homicide Detectives have also been notified.

Southwest District Homicide Investigation

On August 4, 2023, at approximately 5:36 p.m., officers responded to the 300 block of South Calhoun Street to investigate discharging.

Upon arrival, officers located an unidentified male victim sitting inside a vehicle, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body. The victim was transported to an area hospital and was pronounced deceased a short time later by hospital staff.

Northeast District Homicide Investigation

On August 4, 2023, at approximately 3:10 p.m., officers responded to the 2300 block of Pentland Drive to investigate a report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located an 18-year-old male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body and face. The victim was pronounced deceased by BCFD at the scene.

Southern District Shooting Investigation

On August 4, 2023, at approximately 2:37 p.m., officers were patrolling in the area of the 600 block of Cherry Hill Road area when they received a call for a walk-in shooting victim.

Upon arrival, officers observed a 28-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest. The victim’s condition is stable.

Southern District Shooting detectives responded and assumed control over this investigation.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the incident had occurred in the 600 block of Cherry Hill Road.

Northeast District Fatal Pedestrian Crash

On August 4, 2023, at approximately 4 a.m., Northeast District patrol officers responded to the 2900 block of Hamilton Avenue, in the rear, for a report of a crash.

Once there, officers located an adult male pedestrian, being treated by medical personnel.

The victim was transported to an area hospital where he later died.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of a pick-up truck was backing down the alley when he struck the male pedestrian, who was laying down in the alleyway.

The driver of the truck did remain on the scene.

Crash Team investigators are investigating this incident.
