Southeast District Homicide Investigation

On Dec. 3, 2023, at approximately 11:49 a.m., Southeast patrol officers responded to the 1700 block of Manor Avenue to investigate a reported shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located a 33-year-old  male victim, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the chest. The victim was transported to an area hospital and was pronounced deceased sometime later.

Northern District Homicide Investigation 

On Dec. 3, 2023, at approximately 2:50 a.m., Northern District patrol officers were dispatched to the 3600 block of Greenmount Avenue to investigate a reported shooting. 

Once at the location, officers located two 28-year-old male victims in the hallway inside a house, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to their bodies. One of the males was pronounced deceased at the scene, and the other victim was pronounced deceased a short time later at the hospital. 

Preliminary investigation revealed that the victims engaged in a verbal argument with an unidentified male suspect. The incident is believed to be domestic-related.

Fatal Hit and Run Investigation   

On Dec. 3, 2023, at approximately 3:35 p.m., officers responded to the 1100 block of West Mulberry Street to investigate a call for a person lying in the center grass median of Route 40.

Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive 24-year-old male lying in the center grass median of Route 40. Medics responded and pronounced the victim deceased on the scene.

Officers observed injuries that may have been consistent with being struck by a motor vehicle.

Homicide detectives responded and assumed control over this investigation. The Medical Examiner’s Office responded and took possession of the victim's body and will conduct an autopsy to confirm the cause of death and the identity of the victim.
