Northeast District Attempted Murder Arrest

In reference to the shooting that occurred in the Northeast District on October 23, 2023, detectives have arrested a repeat violent offender, 35-year-old Richie Briggs.

Investigators learned that the 36-year-old male victim was driving in the 6100 block of Belair Road when he was shot by Briggs.

On October 25, 2023, detectives arrested Richie Briggs and transported him to Central Booking Intake Facility, where he has been charged with attempted first-degree murder.

Northeast District Shooting Investigations

On October 23, 2023, at approximately 11:42 p.m., officers responded to an area hospital to investigate a call for a walk-in shooting victim.

Upon arrival, officers observed a 36-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim is currently in stable condition.

Northeast District Shooting detectives responded and assumed control over this investigation.
