Northeast District Homicide Arrest

In reference to the homicide that occurred on May 24, 2023, in the Northeast District, detectives have arrested 21-year-old Desron Barber, of Baltimore.

Investigators learned that Barber shot 31-year-old Biancha Johnson, in the 3200 block of Shannon Drive, during a physical altercation involving Johnson and a group.

Desron Barber was taken into custody on the scene following the incident.

On May 25, 2023, Barber was charged with 1st degree murder for the shooting death of Johnson.

Northeast District Homicide Investigation

On May 24, 2023, at approximately 7:12 p.m., Northeast District patrol officers responded to an area hospital in reference to an aggravated assault victim.

Once there, officers located a 31-year-old female suffering from trauma to the body.

The victim was pronounced deceased by doctors.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was involved in a physical altercation in the 3200 block of Shannon Drive.

During the altercation, a male suspect fired a gun into the group, striking the 31-year-old female victim.

Citizens transported the victim to an area hospital where she later died.

The victim’s body was transported to the Medical Examiner’s office where the death was ruled as a homicide.
