Northwest District Attempted Murder Arrest

In reference to the shooting that occurred in the Northwest District on March 19, 2024, investigators have arrested 24-year-old Andre Canady of Baltimore.

Investigators learned Canady was involved in a physical altercation in the 1800 block of Bloomingdale Road, that resulted in the later-identified 23-year-old male being shot.

On April 3, 2024, detectives arrested Andre Canady and transported him to the Central Booking Intake Facility where he was charged with attempted first-degree murder.

Northwest District Shooting Investigation

On March 19, 2024, at approximately 12:56 a.m., Northwest District patrol officers were on a traffic initiative in the 3100 block of West North Avenue, when they heard gunfire.

Officers conducted an area canvas, locating a 27-year-old male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, in the 1800 block of Bloomingdale Road.

The victim was transported to an area hospital where his injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.
