Southeast District Homicide Arrest

In reference to the homicide that occurred on June 3, 2023, in the Southeast District, officers have arrested 36-year-old Jose Flomenco Reyes.

Patrol officers learned that Flomenco Reyes, shot and killed 27-year-old Jeremy Maldonado following a dispute that occurred during a gathering in that block. A second victim was also shot during the incident. A 29-year-old male suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and was treated at an area hospital.

Southeast District officers located Jose Flomenco Reyes, in the 400 block of Drew Street, shortly after the incident and transported him to the Homicide Unit to be interviewed. Investigators then transported Reyes to Central Booking Intake Facility where he has been charged with 1st degree murder.

Southeast District Homicide Investigation

On June 3, 2023, at approximately 4:24 p.m., officers were patrolling the area of the 5900 block of Eastern Avenue when they heard discharging.

Officers located an unidentified male suffering from several life-threatening gunshot wounds in the 5900 block of Eastern Avenue. Medics transported the victim to John Hopkins Bayview Hospital Medical Center for treatment. Unfortunately, he was pronounced a short time later.

Officers were notified that was possibly a second victim, but units were unable to locate the victim at this time.

Homicide detectives responded and assumed control over this investigation.
