Central District Homicide Investigation

On June 29, 2023, at approximately 10:19 p.m., officers responded to the 1500 block of Pennsylvania Avenue to investigate a call for a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers followed medics transporting a 39-year-old male suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds, to the University of Maryland Medical Center, Shock Trauma. Despite life-saving measures, the victim was pronounced deceased a short time later.

Homicide detectives responded and assumed control over this investigation.

Northwest District Shooting Investigation

On June 29, 2023, at approximately 4:12 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Homer Avenue and Wylie Avenue to investigate a report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers observed a 59-year-old male suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his leg. Officers on the scene applied a tourniquet to the victim’s leg as medics arrived. The victim was transported by medics to an area hospital where he is receiving treatment for his injury.

Preliminary Investigation revealed that the victim was shot in the 4500 block of Homer Avenue.  

Northwest District Shooting detectives responded and assumed control over this investigation.

Southern District Homicide Investigation

On June 29, 2023, at approximately 12:11 a.m., Southern District patrol officers responded to the 2400 block of Wilgrey Court for a reported shooting investigation.

 Once at the location, officers located a 35-year-old male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the back. Medics responded and pronounced the victim deceased a short time later.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was seated inside a vehicle when an unidentified suspect shot him.
