Southeast District Shooting Investigation

On March 7, 2024, at approximately 4:41 p.m., Metro Mobile Units were patrolling in the area of the 1800 block of Orleans Street when they observed a vehicle traveling in the 1800 block of Orleans Street that appeared to have extensive damage to the vehicle.

Officers attempted a vehicle stop on the damaged vehicle. Upon stopping the vehicle, the driver exited the vehicle, and officers observed the driver, a 23-year-old male, suffering from a non-life-threatening graze wound.

Due to their proximity to an area hospital, officers assisted the victim into the area hospital where he was receiving treatment for his injury.

Southeast District Shooting detectives responded and assumed control over this investigation.

Southwest District Homicide Investigation

On March 7, 2024, at approximately 12:14 p.m., officers responded to the 200 block of Furrow Street to investigate a call for an unresponsive individual.

Upon arrival, officers observed an unresponsive 41-year-old male suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced deceased on the scene.

The Medical Examiner's Office was notified and took possession of the body.

Homicide detectives responded and assumed control over this investigation.
