Western District Homicide Arrest

In reference to the homicide that occurred in the 1800 block of Presbury Street, on September 7, 2023, investigators have arrested 37-year-old Kenneth Mackay of Baltimore.

Investigators were able to identify Kenneth Mackay as the suspect responsible for the killing of 38-year-old Daniel Taylor.

Detectives continued to investigate this case, obtaining an arrest warrant for Kenneth Mackay.

On October 9, 2023, at approximately 2 a.m., a uniformed police officer conducted a traffic stop of a Nissan Altima, in the 4100 block of Edmondson Avenue, in reference to a repair order and vehicle tags not matching the vehicle. After identifying the occupants of that vehicle, officers arrested  Kenneth Mackay and transported him to Central Booking Intake Facility where he was charged with first-degree murder.

Western District Homicide Investigation

On September 7, 2023, at approximately 3:12 a.m., Western District patrol officers responded to the 1700 block of McKean Avenue, in reference to a Shot Spotter alert.

Officers canvassed the area and located a 38-year-old male suffering from gunshot wounds in the 1800 block of Presbury Street.

Medics arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim dead at the location.
