Our 30X30 Pledge to You

The Baltimore Police Department pledges that by 2030, 30% of our law enforcement officers will be female. We do this, not just because it’s the right thing to do, but because doing so will improve our processes, and services; and make Baltimore Police Department far more efficient and effective than it has ever been.

Enthusiastically, we’ve joined the national 30X30 Initiative, spearheaded by the Policing Project under the New York University School of Law. We acknowledge that traditionally women have been marginalized in the Baltimore Police Department, and underserved in our communities. We are committed to breaking down barriers of all kinds, and building up opportunities so that women can take their rightful place at the head, and all around the table – free from harassment, free from discrimination, and free from institutional bias.  Free to plan, free to be creative, free to decide, free to help make Baltimore City a safer place to live.
