Accountability

A key component of the Consent Decree reform process is to strengthen the Department’s accountability mechanisms. Holding the Department to the highest standards of integrity is critical to reestablishing the BPD’s relationship with the community it serves. Therefore, the BPD is updating the policies of the Public Integrity Bureau (PIB), submitting to audits and inspections, and tracking the outcomes of Consent Decree reforms through assessments performed by the court-appointed Monitoring Team.
